Preparation before your move will save you both peace of mind and money.
The movers need a place to park their truck when coming to your home to pick up your goods.
One of the first things you should do is to contact the City where you are located, and find out what permit is required for the movers to park their truck in front of your home on move day. Usually this is a straight forward process. The professional moving company we assign for your move can also help you with this, just be sure to let the mover know well in advance.
Make sure to let the movers know everything as it relates to both access and parking. If you are living in an apartment or condominium, be sure to let movers know the location for parking and the times you have reserved the access elevators for your move.
Packing For The Move
Packing small and light items into boxes will save time on move day, and also save you money. If you do not have time to do this, then make sure you let the mover know that you want the full pack.
With your boxes packed, you should take all of them to the front of your home, leaving the heavier items (such as bed, couch, kitchen table) for the movers to load into their truck. To the side of your boxes (also at front of home) you should place together all light weight fragile items. These boxes and light fragile items will be the first items into the truck.
The time it takes the mover to complete your move is dependent on how well packed and prepared you are.
